KATHMANDU, The fourth batch of emergency relief supplies provided by China to Nepal arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon, aboard a Y-20A large transport aircraft of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force of China.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Mr. Zhang Maoming and Nepal’s Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, attended the handover ceremony held at the airport.

The latest consignment includes rescue hovercrafts, stainless steel permanent-magnet flood pumps, spare batteries, mortuary freezers and solar-powered lights, among other emergency response materials.

According to officials, the relief items have been selected and supplied in response to Nepal’s immediate needs following disasters and emergencies. The equipment is expected to strengthen rescue and emergency response capabilities, particularly in disaster-affected areas.

The rescue hovercrafts and flood pumps are expected to support operations in areas affected by flooding and water-related disasters, while solar-powered lights and other equipment will assist rescue teams and affected communities during emergency operations and subsequent recovery efforts.

The arrival of the fourth batch further reflects China’s continued support for Nepal’s disaster response and humanitarian efforts. The newly delivered supplies are expected to provide additional logistical and technical assistance to authorities and emergency responders working in affected areas.
